In the disastrous vintage of 2021, Julien lost 90% of the fruit to a mixture of mildew, frost, & hail (hailed in August!) He therefore had to buy fruit to survive - he went to the south, Provence where he had once worked. The wines are very delicious as usual.
100% Colombard from domaine Jean Daugé , Courenssans" Gers (south west), organic grapes. Pressed at Domaine Jean Daugé, débourbage in the truck and then straight to his cellar in the Loire. Ageing was 50% in barrel, 50% in inox vat.
Really beautiful expression of this under celebrated varietal.
