Description: A winter beer that brightens up cold days and nights: Our Eisbock is considered a specialty among connoisseurs that is only available on special occasions and in the region only from Nordbräu. Extremely cold storage allows a particularly high alcohol content to be achieved. According to legend, this brewing method originated in Kulmbach at the end of the 19th century when a journeyman brewer forgot barrels of bock beer outdoors on a cold winter night. The water froze and its remaining components accumulated inside. The master brewer wasn't happy: the following morning he ordered the forgetful fellow to drink all the liquid - which, surprisingly, was drinkable - the Eisbock was invented. The Nordbräu Eisbock is available from mid-October throughout the winter.
